A little announcement and a cup of tea
Every day should have at least one yummy cup of tea in it, right?
Anyway, I did a little update, adding pages for my finished knitting projects. (Over on the right under “About”.) Right now they just have a thumbnail photo of each which will take you to a larger photo and short description if you click on it. If you notice the dates and think I’m a really slow knitter well… I am. But I also get very little free time to knit when I’m working. Really, that’s why!
Tea Review: Butterscotch Chai
I found about about 52teas when they asked to follow me on twitter. Usually uses of twitter for commercial enterprises annoy me, but I liked the conceit of their business so I allowed it. I haven’t signed up for any of their weekly tea clubs, but I couldn’t resist ordering some of the butterscotch chai when they made it available again.
It’s good. There are the actual butterscotch chips in the mix. It definitely needs to be steeped loose, not in a bag or ball, to get the full butterscotch effect, which makes for a very cloudy tea. Like most chais, it’s best with some sugar and maybe a little milk. (I’m not really a fan of milk in tea, except when it comes to chai.) The butterscotch flavor isn’t particularly strong, just one part of the flavor mix.
I was impressed with their resealable pouch, and the amount of tea I got for the price. More than I was expecting!
Wool Candy
I got some yarn from WoolCandy (quite a splurge compared to my usual yarn-buying habits) and attempted to take artistic photos of it. Attempted is probably the operative verb, but here’s my favorites.
My Kitties: Tessa
It wouldn’t be a crazy catlady knitting blog without my cats. I’ll be introducing all 3 (5, no, 3 sir) to you. Today: Tessa.
Tessa is the matriarch of our crew of cats at two and a half. She’s the prettiest, too.
Feather & Fan Cowl
Sometime in January I decided that the best way to use up my Naturally Caron Spa yarn would be to make a cowl for my ma. (Pattern | Ravelry Link) It’s supposed to be a birthday present, but since I didn’t get it done by her birthday (Jan 29) I guess it’s going to be late? It’s sort of turned into the project that never ends.
Here it is after a couple of days of knitting:

(Lighting in my bedroom is meh even on a bright day, so forgive the fuzzies.) Read the rest of this entry »
